U.S. passports approved at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan are returned according to the procedures described below.
Pick Up in Person at the U.S. Embassy
You may come to the Embassy in person to pick up a passport any Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., as long as the Embassy is not closed for a Belize or U.S. holiday. You do not need an appointment to pick up your passport. However, you must wait until you are first notified by email that your passport has arrived at the Embassy and is ready for pickup.
Delivery by Courier Service (SPEEDIT/DHL)
You may choose to have your passport returned to you by the SPEEDIT/DHL courier service. In order to do so, please contact SPEEDIT/DHL at 501-223-6000 to arrange pick up of your passport at the U.S. Embassy after your receive an email notification from the Embassy that it is ready for delivery. Applicants are responsible for paying SPEEDIT directly for their delivery service and for understanding the insurance coverage SPEEDIT provides.

- The Embassy is closed on all U.S. and Belize holiday
- If you are still in possession of your old passport and it is still valid, you will need to bring it to the Embassy or send it by SPEEDIT so we can cancel it before we can release the new passport.
- Applicants who choose to use SPEEDIT can track the shipping status of the package once it has been picked up at the Embassy at http://speedit.bz/web/index.php/package-tracking/.
