Event: UPDATE – COVID-19 Entry Requirements for Belize
Effective Monday, August 9th, 2021, all travelers, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, entering Belize from other countries will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test.
Entry at Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA)
All travelers age 5 and over entering Belize at the Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours of travel or a negative result from an approved Antigen Rapid test taken within 48 hours of travel. If no test is presented, a COVID-19 test will be administered at the airport for a fee of US $50 per passenger. Children under the age of 5 years will not be required to present a negative test.
Entry at Northern and Western Land Borders
All travelers age 5 and over entering Belize through the Northern and Western Border will be required to have a COVID-19 Rapid Test administered by the Ministry of Health and Wellness for a fee of US $50 per passenger. No external COVID-19 PCR or rapid test will be accepted at these points of entry. Children under the age of 5 years will not be required to present a negative test.
Please note that all international travelers who test positive for COVID-19 while entering Belize will be required to quarantine at a Government of Belize approved hotel for 14 days at your own expense. All international travelers are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance covering COVID-19.
