Foreign Service Officer Test

The Embassy of the United States of America announces that applications for the position of Foreign Service Officer (FSO) are now being accepted from U.S. citizens by the Department of State.

One of the first steps in becoming an FSO is to take the Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT), which is administered worldwide at various locations, including Belize. The FSOT, which only U.S. citizens are eligible to take, will be offered this year in Belize at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan on Tuesday, October 1st and Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019. The registration deadline for candidates intending to test overseas is September 25, 2019.

FSOs are at the forefront of all U.S. Embassies, Consulates, and Diplomatic Missions around the world as well as in Washington, D.C. These Officers are instrumental in the formulation and implementation of U.S. foreign policy.
