U.S. Government Resources

Department of Commerce – The U.S. Department of Commerce promotes job creation, economic growth, sustainable development and improved standards of living for all Americans by working in partnership with businesses, universities, communities and our nation’s workers.

Export.gov – Export.gov brings together resources from across the U.S. Government to assist American businesses in planning their international sales strategies and succeeding in today’s global marketplace.

Export Import Bank of the United States – The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) is the official export credit agency of the United States.  The Ex-Im Bank’s mission is to assist in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to international markets.

U.S. National IPR Center – The National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Coordination Center stands at the forefront of the U.S. government’s response to global intellectual property (IP) theft. The IPR Center uses the expertise of its member agencies to share information, develop initiatives, coordinate enforcement actions, and conduct investigations related to IP theft.

U.S. Trade Representative – The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is responsible for developing and coordinating U.S. international trade, commodity, and direct investment policy, and overseeing negotiations with other countries.

Overseas Private Investment Corporation – OPIC is the U.S. Government’s development finance institution.  It mobilizes private capital to help U.S. businesses gain footholds in emerging markets catalyzing revenues, jobs, and growth opportunities.  OPIC provides investors with financing, guarantees, political risk insurance, and support for private equity investment funds.

U.S. Small Business Administration – The U.S. Small Business Administration provides assistance to U.S. small businesses through business financing, entrepreneurial development, federal procurement, contracting, and advocacy.

U.S. Trade Development Agency (USTDA) – USTDA helps companies create jobs through the export of U.S. goods and services for priority development projects in emerging economies.  USTDA links U.S. businesses to export opportunities by funding project planning activities, pilot projects, and reverse trade missions.

 

Belize Resources

American Chamber of Commerce – The American Chamber of Commerce promotes and facilitates trade and commerce between the United States of America and Belize by representing business interests at the Government level and in the media, encouraging linkages with Belizean companies and provides a forum for exchange of information beneficial to all parties.

Belize Chamber of Commerce – The Belize Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization that advocates for economic vitality and private sector enterprise through entrepreneurial development, training, and networking.

BELTRAIDE BELTRAIDE is the Government of Belize’s official trade and investment promotion agency which promotes economic development through fiscal investment incentives, business facilitation, networking opportunities and entrepreneurial development.

Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) – BAHA is Belize’s lead agency under the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for certification of plant and animal health, including live animals and plant materials.  It also provides import and export permits required for sanitary or phyto-sanitary certification for international trade.

BelizeLaw.org – The official website of the laws of Belize is an online library and provides information about the laws of Belize, Supreme Court judgments, and the Judiciary.

Statistical Institute of Belize – The Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) is the government agency responsible to analyze and supply economic, commercial, trade, and labor statistics.

Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) – BBS creates policies for consumer protection and regulates quality standards through monitoring public goods and services.

Central Bank of Belize – The Central Bank of Belize regulates Belize’s financial system by monitoring Belize’s exchange rate and regulating banking institutions.  It also provides economic analysis and publications through various annual reports and economic assessments.

Customs.gov.bz – The Belize Customs Department is responsible for the collection of all customs duties and import tariffs at the point of importation.

Belipo.bz – The Belize Intellectual Property Office is responsible for the official registration of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs in Belize.

NationalAssembly.gov.bz – The Belize National Assembly provides information on Belize’s elected members of parliament, the legislative process, and the political system.

BelizeRetirement.org – Belize Retirement organization provides information on the application process and benefits of the Belize Retirement Incentive Program offered by the Belize Tourism Board.
