Girls Going Global visit to Belize

On Tuesday, April 3, the U.S. Embassy welcomed Girls Going Global (GGG) to learn about the work that is done at the Mission in Belize. Girs Going Global was founded in 2012 with a mission to empower underserved girls ages 13-17 through travel and cultural exchange to become global citizens and change agents. Girls Going Global strives to develop youth leaders for the global stage through dynamic global education and leadership development programs. Girls Going Global inspires underserved girls to achieve academic excellence, global competency and empowers them to take action on critical issues facing their communities and our world.  Since 2014, Girls Going Global has been visiting Belize to conduct service projects with Peace Corps volunteers, experience Mayan and Garifuna culture first hand, and indulge in adventure activities that take participants out of their comfort zone.

The U.S. Embassy is proud to be a part of the Girls Going Global 2018 trip to Belize. We hope the girls continue to have an excellent time exploring everything Belize has to offer and learning about the richness of Belizean culture.
